You can say so, Yixuan. I prefer to view them as human needs and wants. To make money to feed ourselves is a need. To make money to have fine dinning is a want. To show off that one has dined often in the most expensive restaurants to others is ego.
To manage one's ego, we must be aware of what we are doing. If you catch yourself, doing an “ego” thing, stop yourself. This is deep stuff that I am still practicing.
